And in the spirit
He carried me away
To a great, high mountain
And showed me the holy city Jerusalem
Coming down out of heaven from God.
It has the glory of God
And a radiance like a very rare jewel
Like jasper, clear as crystal.
It has a great, high wall with twelve gates
And at the gates twelve angels
And on the gates are inscribed the names
Of the twelve tribes of the Israelites
On the east three gates
On the north three gates
On the south three gates
And on the west three gates.
And the wall of the city has twelve foundations
And on them
Are the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
On the gates of the new Jerusalem are all the names of the tribes of Israel and on the foundations are all the names of the apostles. There is perhaps no clearer picture of the reality of the place and importance of both Messianic Jews and Messianic Gentiles. Both serve as part of the structure of the new Jerusalem. Without foundations, what will uphold the gates? And without the gates, how shall one enter the city, whose walls are 1,500 miles high and 225 feet thick?
God has not abandoned Israel, nor has He forgotten the promises He has made to those who have and do believe in Him.
The Lord is coming!
