[John, the Baptist’s] message: …
I baptize you with water
But [Yeshua] he will baptize you
With the Holy Spirit.
But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit
The Father will send in my name
Will teach you all things
And will remind you of everything I said . . . .
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes,
He will guide you into all the truth.
He will not speak on his own
He will speak only what he hears
And he will tell you what is yet to come.
He will glorify me because it is from me
That he will receive what he will make known to you.
All that belongs to the Father is mine.
That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me
What he will make known to you.
As I began to speak
The Holy Spirit came on them
As he had come on us at the beginning.
Then I remembered what the Lord had said
‘John baptized with water
But you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’
So … God gave them the same gift
As he gave us
Who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ . . . .
All those who believe in the life, death and resurrection of Yeshua Ha’Mashiach and are followers of His are ‘born again’ in the Spirit, and are gifted with the Holy Spirit. But perhaps one of the biggest problems today with believers and congregations alike is not listening to the prompting of the Holy Spirit, resulting in missing power and direction in their personal walk and congregational lives.
The Holy Spirit is not the name of a church band. The Holy Spirit is not available on YouTube or iPhone, and you can’t download Him onto your Blackberry, iPod or Nano. The Holy Spirit is ‘unplugged’ and if you want to hear Him, you need to be ‘unplugged’ as well.
Turn off and tune in.
The Lord is coming!
