At that time
Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee
And was baptized by John in the Jordan.
I am always amazed at the number of people who claim to follow Yeshua but have not been baptized. Many, surprisingly, are not even aware that baptism is considered a necessary act as part of their commitment to Yeshua. It is at the very least an outward (public) declaration of an inward commitment. Theologians cite many other reasons for baptism, however, none of what they cite surpasses the simplicity of the obvious: “If it was good enough for Yeshua to undergo then that’s good enough for me.”
Yeshua underwent baptism “to fulfill all righteousness”, so we should follow our Shepherd’s example and be immersed in His righteousness.
The Lord is coming!
