… why do you stare at us
As if we made this man walk
Through some power or godliness of our own?
The God of Avraham, Yitzchak and Ya’akov
The God of our fathers
Has glorified his servant Yeshua ….
And it is through putting trust in his name
That his name has given strength to this man ….
Yes, it is the trust that comes through Yeshua
Which has given him this perfect healing ….
Therefore, repent and turn to God
So that your sins may be erased
So that times of refreshing may come from the Lord’s presence
And he may send the Messiah appointed in advance for you
That is, Yeshua.
He has to remain in heaven
Until the time comes for restoring everything ….
-Acts 3:12c-13a, 16, 19-21a
The picture here is one of trust – in Yeshua Ha’Mashiach – for healing, for ‘erasure of sins’, for ‘refreshing’. Trust in Yeshua is life. Until He comes again, we are to trust in Him for everything. There is nothing in our lives that falls outside of His remit. When He returns all things will be restored, that is, all things will be as if evil and sin had never touched us or our world. What joy the Lord’s Day will bring to “those who are eagerly waiting for him” (Hebrews 9:28c).
Turn, trust Yeshua, have your sins erased, receive healing and refreshing, and eagerly wait for the return of Yeshua “who has been taken away from you into heaven, [who] will come back to you in just the same way as you saw him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11b [“he was taken up before their eyes; and a cloud hid him from their sight” (Acts 1:9)]).
The Lord is coming!
