Indeed, my Lord God does nothing
Without having revealed His purpose
To His servants the prophets.
In general people believe that prophets, like those of old, no longer exist. However, God said differently to Amos.
Today, many believe that wealth is to be pursued, pensions are to be stored up, food is to be piled high in closets or underground chambers, and everyone is to look to themselves only. However, God said differently to Isaiah and Micah:
Learn to do good.
Devote yourselves to justice;
Aid the wronged.
Uphold the rights of the orphan;
Defend the cause of the widow.
He has told you, O man, what is good,
And what the Lord requires of you:
Only to do justice
And to love goodness,
And to walk modestly with your God . . . .
Prophets still exist — and God’s word still applies.
The Lord is coming!
